casual player here, played D2 at launch and many times over the past 20 years, loving rune words. Wouldnt play D2r if i had to find every item i need and hope the RNG is merciful. Imho hardcore players NEED to understand that games are not made for them most of the time. Solves all "problems". D2(r) is the rarest breed: 20+ year old game and mechanics. ALL players should be happy to be able to play this classic in its modern form. You got your endgame , your uber-bosses and all that stuff, so let casual folks play the the game till hell without farming for gear endlessly, thanks :)

MS/Blizz wont do anything like that ingame again. They did it in D3 and failed miserably. Probably because they wanted to earn off of it. PoE is my prime example how to do trading ingame: Have different "currencies" ingame which can as itself be used to create items and so have a certain value attached to their "ability", which are pretty stable. As long as a dev doesnt want to support a community but earn off of a feature its gonna suck.

Why let people be able to have you drop runes, I dont get it. Unleas you want something to do for a long time i suppose.

last night I was in random FFA PS5 baal runs. They were terrorized, and somehow I managed to pick up a baal wave GC even though i was not the closest to the drop and I'm not fast at all. Like, I had no business being the one to get it lol. I ID'd it with deckard thinking nothing of it-- assuming it would be trash like all others I pick up. I don't even look, just to to mala to prepare to sell off the junk I picked up that run. When shop window opens, I notice the charm is still red-- weird. Required level:83. It took several seconds of staring at it to realized what I was holding. Off the ID from a terrorized baal wave monster-- Lion Branded Grand Charm of Vita with a ~perfect~ +45 life roll. Needless to say, I freaked right out. Now to find a buyer.

Llama why did you even keep that rule where chat can drop your runes through donation, it is gonna make your job even harder

So this happened to me in the flayer dungeon. A random Diablo appeared and couldn’t even take a chip of his health. I had to quit I’m sure he’ll appear again somewhere

I think MrLlama seriously underestimated how hard it is to find runes. He said he thought it would take 20-something hours in one of the first streams to get up to Zod. Spending 5 hours and not finding anything isn't too uncommon. If you just had to play a few hours to get an HR, everyone would have them. If you go on RUclips and Reddit, then everyone seems to have all the high end runewords. But the reality is the wide majority of players never get HRs. Even without the deletes, he'd still be at ~50 hours, and about 10%. This is gonna take way longer than Llama thought it would.

You know what'd be fun for your fans to watch? A Man vs Stream hosted by you for your D2 speedrunning friends = ) You wouldn't have to do that hell, you've been through it, and they wouldn't know what they're in for... I'm picturing your screen has like four streams going on at once while Kano, Teo, and whomever get to learn how to play with 'little hand', 'enhance', and whatnot while you referee, as they all try to go for whatever-class-to-uber... dunno just a fun idea for inter-community events
